The Results are In!!!

Yesterday, we took Tressa in for some blood work to determine what she is allergic to. We had taken her last Friday to an out patient, but after poking her twice (once in the arm and in the hand) they were unsuccessful in getting her blood. So we ended up going to the hospital to the lab. It was amazing how fast they did it. The nurse told Tressa that she was sorry for having to have blood drawn and Tressa looked at her with tears in her eyes and said, "It's okay". The nurse's heart just melted and she said to me, "You have the most precious child". If only she really knew, just kidding? Tressa is sweet and kind when she wants to be.

We got the results in today. Surprisingly, she is not allergic soy. Hallelujah!!! However, she does have a peanut allergy. So no peanuts for her. It is amazing what medical professionals have come up with to help answer unanswered questions. We are excited that she only has one allergy and not two.

Not being allergic to soy should make things much easier around your house! At least peanuts are a little easier to avoid.

So what happened? Did the allergy just go away? That's cool not to have to worry about that anymore. But the peanut thing, still not good, but luckily most people are aware of peanuts being a potential allergen, so they usually think about it first.

I am guessing that because we kept her from soy for two years she was able to out grow it. We are excited. I can definitely make more meals around the house and the peanut allergy is much more easy to control.

That makes it nice. It's much easier to stay away from peanuts than from soy. Did they just check for the 2 allergies or for other allergies as well?

They checked for milk, eggs, certain animals. There was about a list of 10 or so allergens. We are just glad that it is only peanuts.
