Little things that make my day!!!

I know that I say this a lot, but it is amazing how time flies and how fast your child grows. Lately Tressa has been doing some funny, amazing things that just make mine and Ken's day.

Earlier this week, she counted from one to ten in Spanish. For those of you who don't know, Tressa loves to watch "Dora the Explorer" and "Go, Diego, Go". In one episode (the Egg Hunt courtesy of Mimi) Dora counts the eggs she got on her hunt and counts them from one to twelve in Spanish. That is the only thing we can think of at where she came up it. However, I do work on some Spanish with her and English as well. We are still working on counting in English, right now she says, "1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 2". We are continuing to work with her on numbers.

This morning while driving to church, Tressa would quiz me on animal sounds. She would say to me, "Mommy, what cow say?" or "Mommy, what cat say?" If I didn't respond quickly to her question, she would answer her own question. I wonder where she got that from. It is amazing what kids learn just by paying attention to the people and their surroundings. I guess Ken and I better watch what we say and do around Tressa. Who knows what she will pick up.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

With permission from the Easter Bunny, of course, we were able to celebrate Easter on Saturday because of Ken being on call Easter Sunday. Saturday afternoon, we had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. Tressa had a great time finding the eggs hidden in the grass. She would grab an egg, put it in her basket, then as she would spot another egg she would say, "another egg" with a big grin on her face. After the egg hunt we went back inside and of course the minute we get inside she is already sitting on the floor eating the candy from her eggs. Amazing how kids know exactly what to do without ever being taught.

On Easter Sunday, we went to church and enjoyed the Easter program. After church, we were invited over to a friend's house for an Easter ham dinner. Tressa and I had a great time. Would you believe that I actually had dinner with my relatives. No joke? The other lady who was invited to dinner is Sarah Partridge, her ancestor Edward Partridge married William Clayton's daughter. So we are related through the generations. What a small world we live in. Dinner was great and the company was awesome. Tressa and I had a great holiday that we could have without Ken.

I hope that everyone had a nice Easter and that the Easter bunny was friendly this year.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Sorry, I was unable to post pictures. It seemed that there was always an error when I was trying to upload them onto my blog.

Tressa's First Easter Egg Hunt!!

This morning at playgroup, we had an Easter egg hunt with all of the children from the ward. Each child could hunt for 5 eggs each. Tressa could only get the 5 eggs with a sticker on it because of her allergy to soy. She thoroughly enjoyed hunting for the eggs. Right when she stepped foot outside, she just started darting towards the eggs. I think she had gotten the hang of it without my help. Although, I had to guide her to her eggs because she wanted to grab every egg in her sight. We had a great time. Tomorrow, Ken and I are going to give Tressa a little Easter egg hunt in our backyard because Ken is on call Easter Sunday. So the Easter bunny is coming one day early.

Our Little Chef!!!

Last Friday, our ward was putting on a chili cook off and the ward talent show. I had signed up to bring chili and Ken was the host of the talent show. That morning, Tressa and I made some chili in the crockpot. Tressa was quite the little chef. She brought over the kitchen table chair to the counter, stood on it and helped stir while I put in the ingredients. Often times I would look over at her and she would be picking out stewed tomatoes and testing them. It was really cute to see her so interested in helping mommy in the kitchen. FYI, the chili turned out great, although I didn't win a prize and Ken did a wonderful job at hosting the show. Here are some pictures of our little chef, Tressa!!!!

My little Easter bunny!!

Last Friday, Tressa and I went to playgroup to make bunny ears for her egg hunt that is occurring in a couple of weeks. She ended up most the time playing with the toys, so I was the one making the bunny ears. But she sure does look cute in them. When we got home from playgroup she put her ears on and was hopping through the house. Every time she would jump she would say "hop, hop". It was such a cute sight to see. Here is a picture of her in her bunny ears. My little Easter bunny!!!!
